Quiet beauty

Posted on: October 14, 2009

gyu1 Gyeonghuigung is one of the Chosen dynasty’s palaces. There are five palaces in Seoul: Gyeongbokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, Changdeokgung, Gyeonghuigung. Gyeongbokgung is huge and fancy, however Gyeonghuigung is plain and quiet.
Gyeonghuigung was destroyed at Japanese imperialism age and restored at 1980’s. So, now you can enter the Heunghwamun main door of Gyeonghuigung. Also, there is Seoul Museum of History next to Gyeonghuigung. Thus, you can visit old palace and learn about Seoul’s history at the same time. It is killing two birds with one stone.
